    Sonoro Quartet
    RISING STARS

Many a time the genre of string quartets was deemed a thing of the past by experts analysing cultural consumption habits. Yet, we see more and more upcoming young quartets, working hard on mastering and performing classical and contemporary pieces, much to the delight of their appreciative audiences. One of these is the Sonoro Quartet from Ghent, award-winners of the 2021 Bartók World Competition in Budapest. The four musicians will perform at Müpa Budapest at the Rising Stars series, launched by the European Concert Hall Organisation with the aim of showcasing young talents.

The Sonoro Quartet has already established itself as one of the leading young string quartets of its generation. Playing over forty concerts a year, they are among the most active string quartets in Belgium. Apart from their home country, they have in recent years also performed in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland and Hungary, with an upcoming concert tour scheduled in New Zealand, where they will perform 10 concerts in the country's leading venues. They have made several recordings for radio stations and in 2023 they plan to record pieces by the Belgian composer Joseph Ryelandt and Irish composer Seán Doherty. Making their debut in the Rising Stars series, they will give a concert at Müpa Budapest that sets the bar high. Mozart's Adagio and Fugue, a real gem from the master's late period, is a testament of his interest in the works of Bach and Handel, while Bartók's String Quartet No. 5 is the pinnacle of 20th century string quartet literature with its compact, energetic and highly complex composition. Sandwiched between these two classical masterpieces is the usual contemporary premiere, a steady fixture of the Rising Stars concerts. This time the Sonoro Quartet will perform a new piece by fellow Belgian Annelies van Parys, commissioned for the occasion.

    Our offer

Arisztokratikus környezetben, Barnier szappangyáros villájában játszódik a humoros történet, félreértésekkel, szerelmi háromszögekkel, eltitkolt gyermekekkel, táskák elcserélésével fűszerezve.

The Great Dictator, Charlie Chaplin’s most influential work, is a deeply humanistic piece of cinematic art.
