Equally singular is the story of their genesis: in 1972, when the artists began to play music separately as a casual group with the aim of recording an album, the result was so successful that they have been touring the world ever since, burnishing not only their own reputations, but that of their parent orchestra as well. They compile their programmes from an incredibly colourful and entertaining repertoire. This performance, their second visit to Müpa Budapest, will be no exception, featuring popular tunes by Boris Blacher, John Williams, Nino Rota, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Michel Legrand, Burt Bacharach, and Astor Piazzolla, among others.
