At the popular tourist trap restaurant The Grill in Times Square, that serves thousands of customers on a daily basis, recent immigrant Estela meets her new colleagues who are often illegal migrants: waitress Julia (Rooney Mara), her boyfriend the chef Pedro and his rival Max. Amid the chaos of prep and orders, they talk about love, family trouble and their homesickness. When money goes missing from the till and all the staff are interrogated, Pedro acts out of desperation.
