Set in Budapest, spring 1957, after the failed revolution when Hungarian society succumbed to reprisals and hopelessness, marking the start of the threedecade Kádár era. Twelve-year-old Andor, raised by his single mother, believes his war-missing father will return. When a stranger appears claiming to be his father, Andor rejects him despite the man moving in. As mother-son tensions grow, Andor resolves to save his family at any cost. The Oscar-winning Son of Saul director competes at CineFest for the second time.
