Mihály Borbély, who is equally at home in the fields of folk and world music, jazz and contemporary music, and who is extremely popular both in Hungary and abroad, is one of the leading figures of Hungarian jazz as a performer and composer. The folk music heritage of the Carpathian Basin and the Balkans is strongly present in his works, organically combined with elements from the various jazz tendencies or even from the music of the twentieth century classics. His playing combines exciting melodic turns with subtly translucent and powerful rhythms, while lyrical phrases enter into dialogue with energetic gestures.
The current line-up of the Borbély Quartet has released two albums, while Mihály Borbély has already released a total of six albums as a composer on BMC Records. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances.
Az egyszerű sofőr, Schneider Mátyás fuvarozási vállalkozása hirtelen nagyon sikeres lesz. A család gyorsan meggazdagodik, egy nagy villába költöznek és tulajdonképpen azt sem tudják, hogy mihez kezdjenek rengeteg pénzükkel. A feleség úgy gondolja, hogy mint minden gazdagnak, nekik is jár egy lakáj, így aztán szerződteti Hyppolitot, aki elkezdi rákényszeríteni az egyébként egyszerű családra azokat a szokásokat, amelyeket az arisztokrata családoknál látott. A legrémesebb számukra talán az Operába járás, amit az összes családtag a pokolba kíván. Emellett persze szerelmi szál is van a történetben. Nagy András, akiről csak a történet végén derül ki, hogy arisztokrata és aki a lány apjának cégénél dolgozik, szerelmes Schneiderék lányába, Terkába. A lánynak is tetszik a férfi, de Schneiderné inkább a bájgúnár, semmittevő dendihez, Makács Csabához akarja feleségül adni, mert ő a társadalmi ranglétrán feljebb helyezkedik el.
A történet megmutatja, hogyan keverednek össze a társadalmi és a kényszerűségből erőltetett szerepek, a státuszok és a valódi értékek, és aki nevetséges, az hogyan lesz még nevetségesebb.
Egy spanyol kisvárosban eljegyzést tartanak: Mayor Mendoza, a helyi polgármester férjhez adja lányát, Catarinát José Riverához. Az esemény azonban váratlan…
