Programm Section "CineDokk: Stories Found"
Introduction: Péter Muszatics, film historian
Martin Scorsese tells the story introducing the oeuvre of the brilliant and maverick British filmmaking duo, Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger (that is, Imre Pressburger). Scorsese first saw the films of Powell and Pressburger on American television as a child and they captured his imagination for a lifetime. In his precise and sensitive analysis, he talks not only about his idols and personal relationship to them, but also about his own art when he introduces what effect these motion pictures had on him and his generation. Made in England is rich in archive material. It is one of the most beautiful film history documentaries of the past few years, indeed, it is film history in itself.
